As a Senior Software Engineer on the Safety Detection Precision team, you will build and evolve core systems that review AI-detected safety events and determine which are surfaced to customers. The role sits at the intersection of backend systems, data, and AI-driven decisioning. You'll develop intelligent approaches to identify ambiguous cases, deflect low-value reviews, and automate triage where confidence is high—directly improving both customer-facing product quality and internal review efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining systems that review safety detections and manage event surfacing
- Improving detection precision through intelligent case identification and automated triage
- Working across backend, data, and AI/ML infrastructure to enhance model feedback loops
- Owning complex projects end-to-end: design, implementation, rollout, measurement, and iteration
- Using modern AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering judgment and code quality
- Raising the bar for quality, operability, and engineering clarity across the Safety platform
- Partnering closely with product, design, and ML infrastructure teams
You should have 4+ years of software development experience, primarily in backend or distributed systems. You need demonstrable focus on customer experience, strong programming fundamentals in a modern language, and experience designing large-scale, high-throughput systems. The role requires an AI-first mindset—consistently using modern AI coding tools to improve efficiency while applying strong judgment to validate outputs. Experience in data-driven environments and strong cross-functional communication skills are essential.
