Salary: USD 160,000 - 185,000 / annual
Infleqtion is commercializing atom-based quantum technologies for sensing and computing applications. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to lead the development and productization of software systems that interface with cutting-edge quantum and embedded hardware.
You will serve as a technical lead for the software engineering team, guiding day-to-day operations, development priorities, and sprint execution. Responsibilities include leading daily stand-ups, managing the Jira board, enforcing software engineering best practices (code reviews, testing, CI/CD), and acting as liaison between software engineering and the broader multidisciplinary project team.
On the technical side, you will lead development of the frontend application built with React/Next.js, own the backend REST API written in Python (FastAPI), and contribute to integration with Rust-based middleware and driver software for device control. You'll collaborate closely with embedded systems engineers to ensure seamless hardware-software interaction, participate in architecture discussions, and support the transition of projects from prototype to production-ready systems.
Required: Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or equivalent; 4+ years professional software engineering experience; expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript; strong experience with React, Next.js, and FastAPI; familiarity with embedded software concepts; demonstrated experience leading software development teams or acting as technical lead; deep understanding of modern development workflows (Git, Jira, CI/CD, automated testing).
Desired: Rust experience, exposure to scientific instrumentation or physics-related systems, Docker/Kubernetes, startup or R&D environment experience.
Note: This role may require access to information protected under U.S. export control laws for quantum sensing technology. Work is normally performed in an office and laboratory environment around technical equipment including computers and lasers. Up to 10% travel may be required.
