Salary: CAD 130,000 - 225,000 / annual
Veeva Systems is a public benefit corporation and industry-leading SaaS platform for life sciences, having surpassed $3B in revenue. You will join as a Senior Software Engineer on a founding team building a new AI-driven platform that transforms how life sciences companies manage safety, regulatory, and clinical development.
In this role, you will own full-stack feature implementation from design through production support, working with Python, FastAPI, and modern cloud infrastructure. You'll drive technical decisions alongside product management, architect scalable solutions for high-volume enterprise use cases, and mentor junior engineers while establishing engineering best practices. The team is AI-first: leveraging AI for engineering productivity while building genuinely innovative AI-powered features that solve meaningful problems in drug development and regulatory compliance.
You'll have live customers within your first year and direct visibility into accelerating how life-saving therapies reach patients. The role emphasizes rapid problem-solving, code ownership, comprehensive code review, and strategic mentorship of growing engineering talent.
Required: 5+ years production-level software development with proven Python expertise; extensive experience building high-scale enterprise SaaS applications; hands-on proficiency with open-source tools (Git, FastAPI, Pydantic); ability to thrive in fast-paced, startup-like environments within a larger organization; strong mentorship track record; excellent communication skills; high integrity aligned with Veeva's "do the right thing" values.
