Klaviyo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Profiles, Lists and Segments (PLS) team, which owns the core customer data experiences at Klaviyo. The PLS team builds and scales the tools that let customers understand their users, group them into meaningful audiences, and keep those audiences updated in real-time as new data flows in. This work underpins how customers target, personalize, and measure every message they send.
In this role, you will design and build scalable systems that power how customers manage and activate their data. You'll partner closely with product managers, data scientists, and other platform teams to define scope, translate complex data and UX problems into practical implementations, and build intuitive workflows. The position leans frontend-heavy, with a strong focus on crafting thoughtful, reusable components and seamless user experiences using TypeScript, React, Python, and Django.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serving as a core member of the PLS team, working on impactful customer-facing features
- Creating easy-to-use, highly performant editors
- Collaborating closely with Product, Design, and Data Science teams to deliver the best customer experience
- Mentoring team members and driving initiatives that help the team develop new skills
- Owning complex, multi-quarter projects involving cross-team collaboration
You bring 5+ years of full-stack development experience with strong hands-on skills in React, Redux, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. You have a proven track record of delivering work powered by or accelerated through AI, conducting thorough code reviews, and running robust testing cycles using automated testing frameworks like Cypress and pytest. You're experienced with RESTful and GraphQL APIs and evolving data models to support product success. You take ownership of your work from requirements through testing, are motivated by solving tough problems collaboratively, and have demonstrated leadership on complex, cross-functional projects.
The tech stack includes React, TypeScript, Redux, Python, Django, AWS (EC2, RDS, Aurora, S3), Terraform, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and ProxySQL.
