As a Senior Software Engineer in Production Engineering, you'll be responsible for designing, building, and operating Harvey's core compute and networking infrastructure, Kubernetes platform, workflow orchestration, and production foundations. You'll improve reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency across systems that power every customer interaction and AI inference. Key responsibilities include: - Design and operate production infrastructure powering Harvey's products and AI workloads at scale - Drive technical direction across compute infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, workflow orchestration, and production operations - Lead complex cross-functional technical initiatives improving reliability, scalability, security, and cost efficiency - Partner with Product Engineering, Security, AI Infrastructure, and Platform teams to translate requirements into resilient solutions - Build and maintain global compute and network infrastructure ensuring high availability and performance - Develop capacity models, demand forecasts, and fleet lifecycle automation - Operate and improve Kubernetes platform including cluster provisioning, upgrades, networking, and monitoring - Drive infrastructure cost efficiency through capacity management and workload optimization - Build secure infrastructure foundations including IAM, network isolation, secrets management, and compliance controls - Develop Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks using Terraform and Pulumi - Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities - Participate in on-call rotation and lead incident response when needed - Establish reusable patterns and paved paths for engineering teams - Mentor and raise the engineering bar through design reviews and documentation Required experience: - 5+ years in software, infrastructure, site reliability, or production engineering - Deep experience building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP - Strong hands-on Kubernetes production experience including cluster lifecycle management and networking - Experience building and operating distributed systems with strong reliability and performance - Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code expertise (Terraform, Pulumi) - Strong understanding of compute infrastructure, networking, capacity planning, and fleet management - Experience designing and operating observability systems (monitoring, logging, alerting, incident response) - Infrastructure security knowledge (IAM, network security, secrets management, compliance) - Track record driving complex cross-functional technical initiatives and influencing without formal authority - Excellent communication skills and systems-thinking mindset Harvey values Decisiveness, Simplicity, and the belief that the job is never finished.
