Tabs is an AI-native revenue platform automating the contract-to-cash lifecycle for modern finance teams. Founded in 2023 and backed by Lightspeed, General Catalyst, and Primary, the company has raised over $91 million and serves high-growth companies like Cursor and Statsig.
You'll join the Platform team as a Senior Software Engineer, reporting to the engineering leader overseeing platform and infrastructure. Your primary customers are the engineers across the organization—success is measured by whether the rest of engineering can ship faster because of your work.
The Platform team operates as the foundation layer: you'll own build systems, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, developer tooling, dev containers, and API infrastructure standards. The work is deliberately foundational—making deploys reliable, failures legible, and the path from commit to production short. You'll define much of this roadmap independently, setting the bar for engineering excellence. You'll also help shape emerging initiatives like the internal platform-as-a-service being planned.
Key responsibilities include owning platform and infrastructure work that shortens deployment cycles, building and evolving build systems and CI/CD that the entire engineering team relies on daily, improving observability and operational tooling to surface problems early, making hard tradeoffs on behalf of the wider engineering organization, partnering with product teams to identify bottlenecks, and writing production-quality code across the full stack.
The company operates on two-week sprints with weekly ship goals and short feedback cycles. Culture emphasizes working hard and smart—using data and customer feedback to drive decisions while maintaining the bigger picture. The team is in-office in New York with collaborative whiteboard-heavy spaces and provided meals.
You should have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally from startups where you owned broad surface area during growth stages. Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and build tooling is essential. Fluency in TypeScript, Python, or similar modern languages, combined with production systems experience and solid computer science fundamentals, rounds out the profile. You thrive solving other engineers' problems, prefer building invisible infrastructure to visible features, dive deep rather than hand off, and operate pragmatically as part of a team.
