Salary: USD 144,000 - 209,000 / annual
SeatGeek is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Platform team, responsible for building and maintaining the core systems powering SeatGeek's technology ecosystem. This role bridges traditional software engineering with infrastructure development, addressing the unique challenges of the ticketing industry—particularly high-load onsales, scaling, workflow automation, and resilience.
You will improve observability and reliability across the platform, engineer resilient networking infrastructure supporting diverse workloads across multiple regions, and collaborate with other departments on production system operations and autonomous deployments. You'll support teams with expertise in deployment, configuration, routing, monitoring, and scalability across the stack. The role emphasizes leveraging modern AI tools to accelerate development while maintaining SeatGeek's technical standards, and includes mentoring and leading the team around you. You'll participate in an on-call schedule supporting customer experience.
SeatGeek's platform powers enterprise and consumer ticketing for world-class clients including the Dallas Cowboys and Manchester City FC. The team solves custom problems including high-traffic onsales, interactive venue maps, inventory tracking, and event matching.
Tech stack includes: Go, C#, Python, Bash; Kubernetes, Docker, ECS/Fargate, Lambda; Postgres, SQL Server, Memcache, Redis, Elasticsearch; Kafka, Flink, Airflow, Temporal; Cilium, Consul, Envoy, CoreDNS; DataDog, PagerDuty, Chef, Ansible, Vault, Cloudformation, Terraform; AWS and GitLab CI.
Requirements:
- Passion for craftsmanship and product with well-considered opinions on software and reliable infrastructure
- Experience building business-critical software in fast-paced environments
- Experience solving complex technical challenges, particularly in high-traffic, high-reliability systems
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers, and serverless compute platforms
- Experience with continuous integration, delivery, testing, and code deployment
- Experience using observability tools to make performance improvements and forecast growth
- Experience improving system architecture, diagnosing shortcomings, and implementing evidence-based recommendations
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
