Justworks is an HR and benefits platform helping businesses streamline HR operations, payroll, and benefits administration. The Partnerships team builds integrations, partner experiences, and platform foundations that extend the Justworks ecosystem beyond core capabilities.
In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will own large-scale projects from technical discovery through launch, focusing on quick iteration and customer impact. You'll independently drive the development and improvement of Justworks' public API—the critical infrastructure through which customer data flows into and out of the platform. This includes building partner-facing systems, platform integrations, and ensuring API reliability matches the quality of the UI experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Independently owning large-scale projects with a focus on iterative release and measurable customer impact
- Promoting engineering excellence through technical leadership, knowledge sharing, and mentorship of peers
- Collaborating closely with external partners to understand integration needs and deliver scalable, thoughtful solutions
- Building and improving platform infrastructure that makes partner integrations faster, safer, and easier to scale
- Working across platform infrastructure, product integrations, and partner-facing systems
You are self-driven, curious, and demonstrate the ability to build, deploy, and maintain large-scale, complex applications. You prioritize solutions and customer impact over specific tools or frameworks. You exercise good judgment, resourcefulness, and strong communication skills. The role emphasizes technical leadership and mentorship—you'll guide others while remaining a strong individual contributor.
