As a Senior Software Engineer for New Markets, you will design, implement, and maintain mission-critical systems powering millions of users trading billions in assets. Your responsibilities include architecting highly scalable brokerage infrastructure, developing and enhancing middle- and back-office systems using gRPC microservices and React-based UIs, and integrating third-party vendor solutions. You will serve as the operational reliability and engineering lead during regional business hours, acting as incident commander to ensure 24x7 system stability.
Key responsibilities include designing scalable, mission-critical brokerage systems; developing gRPC microservices and internal administration tools; collaborating with core teams to enhance the framework for multi-language, multi-currency, and multi-market support; working asynchronously with tech leads across regions; troubleshooting incidents and bugs; navigating regulatory requirements for international growth; and potentially serving on-call for engineering projects.
You must have strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in Go or similar backend languages, expertise in robust system architecture design, strong communication abilities for global collaboration, incident command experience, solid computer science fundamentals, ability to work independently in fully remote environments under pressure, strategic thinking skills, and experience with event-driven design. Nice-to-haves include experience with AI tooling (Cursor, Claude, Codex), startup or fast-growth company background, knowledge of emerging technologies, domain-driven design experience, and global team collaboration experience.
