FlixBus is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Android to develop high-quality, scalable mobile applications that enhance the passenger travel experience. You'll join the Android Team within the Mobile Cluster under the Customer Experience Stream, working on the travel onboarding journey and post-booking experience.
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain Android applications with a focus on scalability, performance, and user experience. You'll collaborate closely with iOS, Backend, and feature-based teams to ensure seamless cross-platform integration and smooth delivery of high-quality products. Key responsibilities include driving technical improvements across the codebase through architecture enhancements and modernization, optimizing app performance through UI improvements, accessibility compliance, and battery/memory optimization.
You'll leverage analytics and metrics to make data-driven decisions that improve performance and user engagement based on app health and user behavior. The role also involves mentoring fellow engineers, promoting technical excellence through code reviews and knowledge sharing, and staying current with Android trends and technologies to drive innovation.
The tech stack includes Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Clean Architecture, GraphQL, Firebase Remote Config, Dagger/Hilt for dependency injection, testing frameworks (Espresso, Robolectric, JUnit), and GitLab CI/CD with Fastlane and Docker for automation.
You'll be part of a diverse team including product owners, UX specialists, Agile testers, and engineers, working in a tech-driven environment that values innovation, collaboration, and ownership.
