Front is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead the React Native mobile platform, serving as the go-to specialist for cross-platform mobile development on the Client Platform team. You will work alongside Electron and web engineers to improve app performance, enable feature teams to ship cross-platform, and maintain Front's fast, reliable real-time mobile applications for Android and iOS.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining the cross-platform client-side codebase, improving user experience of the React Native mobile app, diving into native-level optimization to enhance performance, exposing native Android and iOS APIs, and serving as a cross-functional subject matter expert on the Android and iOS ecosystem. You will also provide leadership and mentorship to other engineers on the team.
Required experience includes building and maintaining fast, reliable real-time mobile applications, proficiency with C/C++ and React Native, a product-minded approach committed to best-in-class user experience, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, collaborative, high-growth environment. You should understand engineering trade-offs and value pragmatism over idealism.
Bonus qualifications include experience with JNI, Android NDK, Kotlin, and TypeScript.
