Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems and AI. The Maritime Division is building next-generation autonomous underwater vehicles and integrated maritime systems, including products like Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry, while executing billion-dollar contracts and operating Robot-as-a-Service (RaaS) platforms.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will independently drive the delivery of software integrated into maritime autonomous platforms. This includes autonomy stacks, simulation environments, data processing pipelines, payload integration, and off-board command and control systems. You will demonstrate end-to-end ownership at the subsystem or system level, acting as a technical lead for the rapid architecting, design, delivery, and evolution of next-generation autonomous platforms throughout their entire product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include: empathizing with end-users and balancing their needs against multi-stakeholder constraints; owning deployed software solutions optimized for customer value delivery; designing scalable software that rapidly extends platform capabilities with clear architectural evolution paths; contributing to reusable software services across Anduril product lines; developing software for both on-board robotic platforms and off-board systems using diverse technologies; designing and executing development processes including full lifecycle testing, monitoring, and operations; creating test and simulation fixtures with hardware-in-the-loop capabilities; supporting vehicle manufacturing and deployment; mentoring junior engineers; and traveling up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and teams.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; extensive professional software engineering experience across multiple domains; strong systems and application programming skills (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, design); experience troubleshooting remotely deployed software; ability to work holistically across the software stack from design through sustainment; capacity to own a software service end-to-end including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmap, team coordination, and evolution; mentoring and team-building capability; and eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred qualifications include senior-level experience delivering military mission systems and backend/embedded software experience in C++, Rust, or Go.
