Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomous systems and AI. The Maritime Division develops next-generation autonomous underwater vehicles and integrated software solutions, including platforms like Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry, executing billion-dollar contracts while scaling Robot-as-a-Service operations.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will independently drive delivery of software integrated into maritime autonomous platforms, including autonomy stacks, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and command-and-control systems. You will demonstrate end-to-end ownership at the subsystem or system level, acting as a technical lead for rapid architecting, design, delivery, and evolution of next-generation autonomous platforms throughout their lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include: empathizing with end-users and balancing their needs against multi-stakeholder constraints; owning deployed software solutions optimized for end-user value; designing scalable software that rapidly delivers capability with clear evolution paths; contributing to reusable software services across Anduril product lines; developing software for both on-board robotic platforms and off-board systems; designing and executing development processes including full lifecycle testing and monitoring; creating test and simulation fixtures with hardware-in-the-loop capabilities; supporting vehicle manufacturing and deployment; mentoring junior engineers; and traveling up to 20% to co-locate with end-users and teams.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; extensive professional software engineering experience across multiple domains; strong systems and application programming skills (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, design); experience troubleshooting remotely deployed software; ability to work holistically across the software stack from design through operation and sustainment; capacity to own technical services including stakeholder engagement, requirements, roadmap, team coordination, and evolution; mentoring capability; and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance.
Preferred: senior-level experience delivering military mission systems; backend services or embedded software expertise in C++, Rust, or Go.
