Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Maritime Division, which develops autonomous underwater systems and maritime platforms for defense applications. The role focuses on delivering software integrated into next-generation autonomous platforms, including autonomy stacks, simulation environments, data processing pipelines, payload integration, and command-and-control systems. You will independently drive end-to-end delivery of major software subsystems and demonstrate technical leadership across the product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: architecting and designing scalable software solutions that balance end-user needs with military requirements; owning deployed customer-facing software; implementing software for both on-board robotic platforms and off-board systems; designing reusable components across Anduril product lines; developing and executing comprehensive testing strategies including hardware-in-the-loop simulation; and mentoring junior engineers. The role requires deep systems-level thinking across the full software stack—from embedded systems on autonomous vehicles to cloud-based command infrastructure. You'll work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, collaborate with hardware engineers and operators, and travel up to 20% to co-locate with customers and teams. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, or related field; extensive professional software engineering experience; strong systems and application programming skills (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, scaling, testing, infrastructure, design); experience troubleshooting remotely deployed systems; ability to own a software service end-to-end including stakeholder engagement and roadmap management; mentoring capability; and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance. Preferred experience includes senior-level work on military mission systems and backend/embedded development in C++, Rust, or Go.
