Salary: USD 153,000 - 222,000 / annual
Applied Intuition is a $15B-valued AI infrastructure company (Series A+) powering physical intelligence for autonomous vehicles, defense, and industrial equipment. The company serves 18 of the top 20 global automakers and the US military, with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia.
You will own and maintain the HD maps infrastructure that underpins Applied Intuition's product suite. HD maps are critical for localization, global data querying, visualization, and inspection across autonomous vehicle and simulation applications. This is a high-impact role where you'll define the future of the company's mapping capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Own maps infrastructure across all products, from design through deployment
- Define and evolve the map storage format to support new features and scale globally
- Focus on UI/UX, data pipelines, storage optimization, and SDK design
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering teams and external customers on architecture and feature roadmaps
- Drive technical decisions that balance performance, scalability, and usability
You bring 2+ years of production software development in C++ or Python, with hands-on experience building systems that solve real-world mapping or localization challenges. Background in autonomous vehicles or simulation products is a plus but not required. You're comfortable owning a critical infrastructure component end-to-end and thrive in cross-functional collaboration.
Applied Intuition is primarily in-office (5 days/week at Sunnyvale HQ), with flexibility for occasional remote work and schedule adjustments. Compensation includes base salary ($153k–$222k), equity, comprehensive health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, 401(k) match, learning stipends, and PTO.
