Wildlife Studios is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Live Games Tech team, responsible for systems serving millions of daily active players. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on technical leadership and mentorship through exemplary engineering practice. You will own real architectural decisions with immediate, measurable consequences in production. Your responsibilities include designing and implementing complex features across mobile (Unity/C#) and backend (Go) systems, establishing production ownership practices including monitoring and incident response, and defining the team's observability standards (SLIs, alerting, dashboards). You'll drive proactive codebase improvements as a habit, develop engineers around you through code reviews and pair programming, and shape feature direction alongside product and design teams. Key responsibilities: - Lead design and implementation of complex features with explicit architectural trade-offs - Own technical decisions for your area: architecture, performance, scalability, and accountability - Maintain full production ownership post-release: monitoring, signal reading, fast iteration - Define and evolve team observability practices and incident response - Drive continuous codebase improvements - Develop engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and pair programming - Collaborate with product and design from initial conversations Required qualifications: - Solid production experience with systems at scale - Strong background in software architecture and system design - Experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response in live systems - Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and raise the bar for peers - Working proficiency in English Preferred experience: - Unity/C# for mobile development - Go and Kubernetes-based backends - AWS infrastructure - Background in games or high-traffic consumer products Wildlife Studios is one of the world's leading mobile game developers and publishers, having released over 60 titles reaching billions of players globally.
