Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers including Facebook, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Data Extraction and Accessibility team builds and maintains the centralized reporting framework that powers Adyen's platform, managing secure data access from operational systems and the big data platform, transforming data into required formats, and ensuring secure delivery to merchants.
In this role, you will work on complex technical projects across the full lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and production launch. You'll be hands-on, contributing directly to implementation while identifying opportunities to improve platform robustness and scalability. Your code will operate at scale serving thousands of merchants and shoppers, requiring you to think in terms of performance, reliability, and distributed systems from day one.
Key responsibilities include building APIs and tooling to quality standards, collaborating across teams and time zones, and launching features rapidly with an iterative mindset. Within your first weeks, you'll deliver live functionalities impacting merchants and shoppers. You'll bring your own perspective on engineering best practices and work cross-functionally with Data Science, Frontend, and Product teams.
You should have 7+ years of software development experience in fast-paced tech environments, with strong proficiency in Java, Web Services, REST APIs, Webhooks, and SQL/PostgreSQL. You understand distributed systems at scale, value software engineering practices, and thrive in experimental, launch-fast cultures. Full professional English proficiency is required. This is an office-first role based in Amsterdam with a strong emphasis on in-person collaboration.
