As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll own complex technical problems end-to-end—from design through deployment—working across CLEAR's three core technology pillars: Core Identity, CLEAR1, and CLEAR Travel. You'll design, build, test, and deploy scalable full-stack applications using Java, React, and TypeScript. Your responsibilities include owning projects from technical discovery through implementation and operational support, partnering with Product, Design, Data, Security, and Operations teams to translate business problems into scalable solutions.
You'll drive engineering excellence by improving system reliability, performance, testing, observability, and developer experience. You'll contribute to architectural decisions that enhance platform scalability, security, and maintainability, while mentoring teammates through code reviews and sharing best practices.
You bring 6+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience building production applications. You have strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software architecture. You're experienced building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS using Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines. You have a demonstrated history of owning complex, cross-functional projects and driving them from idea to production with a bias for action. You communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, operate comfortably in ambiguous environments, and have a collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and building products that deliver measurable impact.
