Auxmoney, a FinTech innovator, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Banking & Payment Operations team. You will work in a cross-functional, agile environment developing scalable and secure financial solutions that handle loan accounting and cash flows between investors and borrowers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and evolve system architecture to address scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability challenges
- Build secure, scalable, and cost-efficient solutions while maintaining high coding and documentation standards
- Break down complex initiatives into manageable workstreams and deliver incremental value through iterative development
- Contribute to a service-oriented, event-driven architecture using Kafka
- Share knowledge, improve team practices, and mentor team members on technical excellence
- Collaborate with product and business teams on design reviews and problem-solving
- Take ownership of challenging projects and guide technical direction
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term system sustainability
- Gain deep insights into FinTech business processes and help shape solutions with real impact
- Work remotely from anywhere in Germany with only two office visits per year required
Requirements:
- Several years of hands-on experience with object-oriented programming, preferably PHP
- Strong MySQL database expertise
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven or service-oriented architectures (preferred)
- Knowledge of PHPUnit or Cypress for testing
- Experience with monitoring and performance optimization tools (e.g., New Relic)
- Proficiency in Git version control
- Interest in financial systems and FinTech development (preferred)
- Product-oriented mindset focused on delivering measurable user and business value
- Strong English communication skills (German is a plus)
- Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
