Harmonic is a startup discovery engine that helps investors, corporate development, and GTM teams identify breakout companies before they become obvious. The company maps the entire startup landscape and builds tools that connect the right companies with the right people at the right time. Harmonic is growing at 100%+ annually and is backed by $30M from top-tier VCs including Craft, Floodgate, and Sozo Ventures. This is a founding iOS engineering role reporting to the Scout and Discovery teams. You will own the end-to-end development of Harmonic's first iOS application, from architecture and project setup through shipping the initial product experience. You'll work directly with Product and Design to create world-class mobile experiences that unlock insights from Harmonic's proprietary data, with a focus on AI-native chat UX patterns. Key responsibilities include: building and shipping the iOS app from scratch with high craft and polish; partnering with Product and Design to create exceptional, production-ready features; driving technical decisions and setting the quality bar for mobile at Harmonic; establishing scalable architecture, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and reusable components that enable future team growth; and mentoring future iOS hires as the founding engineer. You bring 5+ years of experience building and maintaining user-facing iOS applications in production. You have strong product and design intuition, demonstrated by a track record of creating polished, user-focused experiences. You're comfortable taking ambiguous problems and building real solutions independently. You're opinionated about modern mobile architecture and best practices but remain flexible and open to new approaches. You're customer-obsessed and always looking to improve user experience. You're based in NYC and open to being in office 3 days per week.
