Courier Health is a NYC-based healthtech company building patient engagement software for life sciences companies. The platform helps biopharma companies support patients with chronic and rare diseases from diagnosis through therapy initiation and adherence, delivering measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
As Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure, you will own the design, deployment, and evolution of Courier Health's serverless-first AWS platform. This is a deep technical ownership role at a growth-stage company where infrastructure decisions directly impact how quickly the engineering team ships features and how reliably patients access life-saving therapies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and operate a serverless platform built on Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, AppSync, and Aurora, ensuring it scales reliably and securely as customer base and data volumes grow.
- Own the AWS multi-account architecture, including account hierarchy, Service Control Policies, and IAM Identity Center, making compliance the default path for all engineers.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and the broader developer platform that enable fast, confident deployments across the organization.
- Implement observability, monitoring, and alerting systems that proactively identify and prevent issues in a healthcare context where reliability is mission-critical.
- Establish infrastructure standards, select and deploy engineering tools, and collaborate across teams to unblock technical challenges and improve day-to-day engineering operations.
- Provide architectural guidance to help product and backend teams build systems that leverage the platform effectively.
You will work in an office-first environment (4 days per week in NYC) with a team that values culture, craft, and customer obsession. The role combines hands-on technical work with platform thinking—you'll spend time both building infrastructure and enabling other engineers to move faster.
Required qualifications: 3–5 years of public cloud infrastructure experience, deep AWS expertise including serverless architectures and container orchestration (EKS), strong Infrastructure as Code skills (Terraform), hands-on CI/CD pipeline experience, familiarity with AWS Organizations and multi-account governance, proven ability to design and monitor cloud infrastructure at scale, proficiency in at least one backend programming language, and a BS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
Bonus: TypeScript proficiency, AI/ML infrastructure experience, or expertise building CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Argo, Semaphore).
