Salary: USD 180,000 - 210,000 / annual
Biofire Technologies is building technology to reduce preventable gun injuries and deaths, particularly among children. As Senior Software Engineer II, Web Platform, you will own the full-stack platform behind Biofire's customer-facing website—the system of record for browsing, account access, and checkout on a regulated product.
You'll start by assessing the current architecture, integration points, and technical debt, then develop a pragmatic roadmap for platform evolution to support growing digital marketing efforts and rising traffic. Your core mission is to build platform capabilities that enable Marketing to move independently through self-service content publishing, analytics, and experimentation infrastructure, while simultaneously raising reliability standards across the system.
Key responsibilities include designing and shipping full-stack changes (frontend, API, data, infrastructure) without requiring specialists at each layer; owning the customer-facing web platform end-to-end; building CMS-driven content publishing and analytics pipelines; improving observability with dashboards, alerting, and SLOs for critical journeys (auth, checkout, account access); strengthening release infrastructure for frequent, confident deployments; and planning architectural changes with clear documentation and stakeholder communication.
You'll partner closely with Marketing, Design, and Customer Experience teams to surface technical constraints early, propose practical alternatives, and define clear ownership boundaries. This is a full-ownership role requiring demonstrated end-to-end platform ownership, full-stack fluency across the modern web stack (Next.js, TypeScript, React, Prisma, GraphQL), strong system design instincts, and comfort operating in commerce- and regulatory-heavy domains where data correctness is critical. You should have a track record of shipping quickly with work that holds up over time, and strong cross-functional partnership skills.
