As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will lead technically complex projects and serve as a technical multiplier for your team. You'll drive implementation of complex technical initiatives from concept to production while maintaining high performance and reliability standards. Your responsibilities include identifying opportunities to simplify code and infrastructure with measurable business impact, leveraging modern AI-assisted engineering tools to accelerate workflows and code quality, and acting as a mentor and coach to raise the technical bar through code reviews and architectural guidance.
You'll collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to ensure solutions address user needs effectively. The role offers exposure to high-impact domains including integrated CRM and ERP solutions for private capital (building greenfield product and data integrations at the platform's core) and international fund administration (scaling Carta's FA platform across Europe, APAC, and beyond as a lean, high-growth startup within the larger organization).
The tech stack includes Python, Django, React, Postgres, and Kafka, with additional exposure to Java, gRPC, and AWS. You'll work with a pooled hiring model transitioning to team-matching, ensuring alignment with specific teams matching your strengths and career goals. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, can break down complex user stories into actionable tasks with minimal guidance, understands the strategic 'why' behind code decisions, and can articulate technical trade-offs to stakeholders.
