Okta's Identity Governance (OIG) organization is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Identity Administration team, responsible for critical enterprise identity workflows including employee access requests, approvals, and resource provisioning at scale.
In this role, you will own feature areas end-to-end—from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring. You'll design and build high-quality, production-ready features across the OIG system with focus on correctness, reliability, and performance. You'll work collaboratively with Product, Design, and Site Reliability Engineering teams to scope and deliver enterprise-grade software that thousands of organizations depend on daily.
Key responsibilities include: taking end-to-end ownership of feature development; designing and shipping secure, scalable features; rapidly addressing customer-reported issues and bugs; writing clean, well-tested, maintainable code; and partnering across teams for deployment and monitoring.
Required qualifications: 5+ years with Java (Spring/Dropwizard) and/or Golang, with deep understanding of multi-threading and asynchronous processing; experience building high-performance RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services; solid experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and caching layers (Redis) at scale; hands-on AWS experience (Fargate, EC2, Lambda) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform); strong proficiency with Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions); B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
Nice-to-have skills include: OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and JWT token understanding; monitoring tools like Splunk, SignalFX, or Datadog; Kafka or SQS experience; React/JavaScript familiarity; and knowledge of multi-tenant infrastructure deployment.
