Wrapbook is an AI-powered production finance platform trusted by Netflix, Paramount, and other major studios. The company provides integrated systems for payroll, spend management, and accounting across film, TV, and commercial production.
You'll join PANDA, the platform and technical enablement team, as a Senior Software Engineer I. PANDA owns critical cross-cutting infrastructure that every product team depends on: the Approval Workflow Engine (AWE), permissions systems, authentication (Auth0/MFA), and notifications. This is deep platform infrastructure work with company-wide impact, not feature development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and evolving shared platform systems with strong architectural judgment around state management, data integrity, scalability, and backward compatibility
- Collaborating with product managers and engineers across teams to solve customer problems elegantly
- Leading complex, ambiguous projects by decomposing them into actionable tasks with clear migration paths
- Writing performant, scalable, secure backend code in Ruby on Rails
- Designing and optimizing data models and SQL queries (PostgreSQL)
- Mentoring through code reviews and raising technical standards
- Participating in on-call rotation for production support
You bring:
- Strong full-stack web application and API development experience, ideally in Ruby on Rails
- Architectural thinking around tradeoffs and abstractions in shared, multi-team systems
- High ownership mentality; self-directed and comfortable driving ambiguous work
- Prior platform, infrastructure, or enablement team experience building systems other teams consume
- Bonus: experience with approval workflows, RBAC, or identity/auth products in multi-tenant SaaS
- Collaborative approach to aligning architecture with business goals
- Comfort with AI coding assistants (Claude Code) and building AI-enabled agents
- Strong communication and SQL optimization skills
- Customer focus and attention to quality
