Reporting to the Engineering Manager for Agentic Care, this Senior Software Engineer will develop AI-driven features that improve how members discover and engage with mental health care. You'll own the technical design and delivery of full-stack agentic AI systems, integrating emerging AI technologies into the member experience.
Key responsibilities include: designing and building scalable full-stack services using Ruby on Rails and Python; writing production-ready code while maintaining high quality standards; leading technical design reviews and producing technical designs as primary author; using AI tools (Claude, Copilot) to support design, exploration, and code reviews while critically evaluating outputs; identifying repeatable tasks for AI acceleration and guiding junior engineers on responsible AI usage; leading multi-person, multi-sprint projects with cross-functional coordination; raising and addressing security concerns and performance implications; driving engineering best practices within the team; mentoring earlier-career engineers through code reviews, pairing, and coaching; and owning operational excellence through logging, alerting, monitoring, and incident investigation.

The role is hybrid based in San Francisco (44 Montgomery Street) with expectations to be in office 2-3 days per week. Candidates must be based in the SF Bay Area or able to relocate independently within 90 days. Occasional travel for team on-sites is required.
