As a Senior Software Engineer I, you will contribute to the development of engaging, interconnected system solutions that enhance customer experiences and solve complex technical challenges. You will work alongside some of the brightest minds in finance and technology to design and build sophisticated software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical: Take personal responsibility for product quality and maintainability, actively identifying areas for improvement. Identify problems and risks in your own work and others'. Understand OWASP security principles and apply them to decision-making. Possess empathy with end users and use that to guide technical choices. Identify viable alternative solutions and present them to stakeholders.
Process: Follow SDLC processes including agile-based workflows, peer code reviews, and technical preparations for releases. Partner with product and analytics teams to drive requirements that account for all parties' needs.
Impact: Onboard and mentor less experienced team members. Develop sophisticated software with minimal supervision. Contribute complex technical documentation and engineering presentations. Lead small to moderate projects and may supervise others. Fix complex bugs with advanced debugging skills. Produce quality API documentation. Contribute to system design sessions in your area of specialty. Perform expanded code reviews and advanced refactoring.
Communication: Give constructive feedback to team members. Learn industry jargon and business concepts to understand the challenges the technology solves. Raise roadblocks and update estimations as needed. Communicate complicated concepts to junior staff.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent years of experience.
Work Experience: Minimum 6+ years of professional software development experience, preferably with Project Lead experience.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Python in distributed web application development (microservices, APIs, DB integration, queues, topics, caches, containers, serverless)
- Experience with AWS services and APIs, or equivalent cloud vendor experience
- Experience working in OS X and Linux environments
- Experience designing and building JSON or REST services and APIs
- Experience with source control such as Git
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment methodologies
- Experience working in Agile software development environments (e.g., scrum)
- Experience working with 3rd party APIs, workflow and integration architectures
- Experience with large-scale or distributed web applications
Desirable Skills: Experience with data processing or data engineering, integration with AI and ML services, APIs or models.
