As a Senior Software Engineer, you will lead and drive critical projects across Checkout.com's product portfolio. You'll work with cross-functional teams including product management and a large engineering community to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-impact software solutions. The role offers opportunities to switch teams and projects as the business evolves, requiring versatility across full-stack development.
Key responsibilities include designing loosely coupled, scalable microservices systems using industry best practices; writing clean, maintainable, and testable code on Checkout's most impactful systems; building and operating systems to the highest levels of resilience and service; mentoring junior team members on technical development; and staying current with the latest technologies to enhance team productivity.
You'll bring proficiency in C#/.NET, Java, or Go with strong software development principles in backend or full-stack environments. The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Experience in agile environments, strong problem-solving abilities, and AI proficiency or curiosity are essential. Payments or financial knowledge is a plus but not required.
