Salary: USD 128,842 - 209,368 / annual
Braze is a leading customer engagement platform that helps brands deliver personalized, AI-powered customer experiences across channels. The Frontend Infrastructure & Experience (FIX) team builds the foundational systems, components, and tools that enable engineers across Braze to create polished, accessible, and consistent user interfaces.
As a Senior Software Engineer on FIX, you will design and build high-impact frontend infrastructure and product experiences used company-wide. You will lead significant projects end-to-end—from technical design through implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through. Your work will directly improve the developer experience for engineers working in a large TypeScript and React codebase through better abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used across Braze
- Lead large projects end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through
- Improve developer experience in a large TypeScript and React codebase through better abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples
- Build customer-facing product experiences that are polished, accessible, performant, and consistent with Braze standards
- Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams to solve cross-cutting frontend problems
- Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication
Recent team projects include developing frameworks for marketing message editors, enabling AI harness integration with drag-and-drop editors, migrating navigation and routing to React, extending the design system with semantic tokens, building type-safe scaffolding and API tooling, and advancing accessibility, localization, and consistency across product experiences.
You will work with TypeScript, React, Cypress, Jest, RSpec, frontend build and packaging tooling, code generation tools, and Ruby on Rails.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical impact
- Highly skilled in modern frontend development, especially TypeScript and React
- Experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure
- Deep care for user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability
- Comfortable working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders
- Clear communication, strong collaboration across teams, and ability to raise the technical bar
BONUS EXPERIENCE:
- Design systems or component library development
- Frontend testing frameworks (Cypress, Jest)
- Code generation, linting, codemods, or developer tooling
- Internationalization, localization, or accessibility
- Ruby on Rails
