Coder is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join its Agentic Engineering team in the UK. You'll design and build production systems that power Coder's agentic development platform, working across the agent harness, integrations, and workflows that connect AI agents with real development environments. In this hands-on role, you'll own projects from implementation through rollout, solving complex technical problems in Go while collaborating with Product, Design, and fellow engineers. Key responsibilities include improving agent execution, tool use, context management, and streaming; extending the provider-agnostic architecture as models evolve; building reliable integrations between agents, workspaces, and developer infrastructure; and contributing to design and code reviews. You'll need strong production software experience, hands-on Go proficiency, and familiarity with React and TypeScript. Experience building systems around LLMs or agentic workflows is essential, along with knowledge of model APIs, tool calling, context management, and agent loops. You should understand distributed systems and production reliability, have working knowledge of AWS, and be comfortable with technical ambiguity. Bonus experience includes building coding agents, developer tools, or cloud development environments; familiarity with MCP or multi-agent systems; experience with remote execution, sandboxing, or isolated compute; integrations across multiple model providers; and AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, or Linux expertise. Open-source contributions or direct customer experience is valued. Coder's tech stack includes Go and Postgres on the backend, TypeScript and React on the frontend, AWS and Kubernetes for infrastructure, and Prometheus/Grafana for observability. The company is Series B-funded and positions itself as the leading platform for AI development infrastructure, enabling enterprises to run secure, governed human and AI-driven development workflows.
