Anduril Industries is a defense technology company transforming U.S. and allied military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology. The Tactical Reconnaissance & Strike (TRS) division builds highly capable autonomous drones and solid rocket motors, delivering operational capabilities in months rather than years.
The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) team performs implementation, analysis, test, and validation for GNC software solutions supporting Anduril's autonomous drone fleet. This includes attitude and position control, waypoint and terminal guidance engagements, and navigation in contested environments including GPS and communication-denied scenarios.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the GNC team, you will own guidance and control law development and validation, hardware and software in-the-loop testing and analysis, and cutting-edge navigation solutions across the entire range of drones within TRS. You will develop, debug, and test flight controllers and guidance algorithms; create and validate Software-In-The-Loop and Hardware-In-The-Loop tests for flight testing; work closely with the flight software team to define requirements and integrate GNC software in simulation; review test data from flight control systems and instrumentation to verify vehicle performance and debug incidents; and develop models supporting functional evaluation of GNC software.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with focus on dynamic systems and control; 8+ years professional experience in a GNC role, preferably on airborne platforms; experience with MATLAB and Simulink; experience modeling and simulating linear and nonlinear dynamic systems and model linearization; U.S. Secret security clearance eligibility.
Preferred: Master's or PhD in relevant field; state estimation experience (Kalman filtering, sensor fusion); navigation system integration and debugging for aerial platforms; flight control design for fixed/rotary wing aircraft or missiles; guidance algorithm development; C/C++ proficiency; Simulink Embedded Coder experience.
Position is on-site in Atlanta, GA with relocation benefits provided.
