Chime's Growth Engineering team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to own full-stack features that drive member engagement and business metrics. You'll design, develop, and ship consumer product experiences end-to-end: React and TypeScript interfaces on the frontend, Rails services and APIs on the backend, and A/B tests that validate impact.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and scale consumer product features across the full stack, from member-facing React/TypeScript UIs through backend services and APIs
- Build resilient APIs and collaborate with mobile engineers on React Native app contracts
- Rapidly prototype and launch A/B tests, using results to inform shipping decisions
- Own quality end-to-end: page performance, funnel conversion, accessibility, and instrumentation
- Partner with product, design, data science, and marketing to solve member pain points
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and scalability
- Uphold high technical standards across the engineering team
You bring 5+ years of production software development experience at scale, with proven expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React or equivalent) and server-side frameworks (Ruby on Rails or equivalent). You're comfortable with TypeScript, component-driven UI development, transactional databases, caching, client-side state management, and performance optimization. Experience running experiments (A/B tests, feature flags) and familiarity with large-scale web application architecture are essential. Growth or consumer product experience is a plus.
