Mendix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Governance domain team. In this role, you will drive digital innovation for customers by ensuring critical platform components operate flawlessly and securely, underpinning their mission-critical systems.
You will solve sophisticated technical challenges within the Governance domain, designing and implementing innovative, scalable solutions that make tangible impact on platform architecture and reliability. You'll champion customer success by translating their needs into robust platform capabilities, while upholding uncompromising standards of quality in everything you deliver.
This is a senior individual contributor role where you will lead by technical example, mentor peers, and influence architectural decisions. You'll take full ownership of your code from development to production ("you build it, you run it" mentality), balancing innovation with pragmatic delivery while navigating ambiguity and complex challenges.
The role focuses on the Mendix low-code application development suite. You'll work with a modern tech stack including Java, Python, Tekton, and Go, selecting optimal tools and languages for each problem. You should be proactive, driven by mastery and continuous improvement, approachable, and solution-oriented.
The position is based in Rotterdam with a hybrid schedule requiring 2 days in office per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant professional software development experience with strong Java proficiency
- Experience with Python and/or Tekton (strong plus)
- Experience with cloud providers like AWS and solid understanding of Kubernetes/Docker, or eagerness to learn and master these technologies
- Proven track record of designing and building reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions
- Strong "you build it, you run it" demeanor with full responsibility for code from development to production
- Ability to lead by technical example, mentor peers, and influence architectural decisions
- Proactive approach to navigating ambiguity and accepting complex challenges
- Discernment to select optimal tools and languages for problems at hand
