Salary: USD 144,000 - 209,000 / annual
SeatGeek is disrupting the $300 billion ticketing industry with a technology-first approach to live events. The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the R&D team and help scale their platform to support a rapidly growing business.
In this role, you'll work across a modern, containerized service-oriented architecture using industry-leading development practices. You'll ship code to production multiple times daily, solving complex performance problems in a many-sided marketplace while building performant, beautiful, and inclusive user interfaces. Key responsibilities include evaluating new technologies to maintain SeatGeek's technological edge, leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to accelerate development, and collaborating across team boundaries to deliver the best product in the industry.
You'll tackle unique ticketing challenges including high-traffic onsales events, interactive venue maps, inventory tracking, and event matching algorithms. The tech stack includes Python (FastAPI), Go, C#/.NET Core, React+TypeScript, Swift, and Kotlin on the backend; AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Datadog, and GitLab for infrastructure; Aurora (Postgres), ElastiCache, OpenSearch, and DynamoDB for data; and Kafka, Flink, Airflow, and Temporal for streaming and workflows.
Required qualifications include experience building business-critical software in fast-paced environments, solving complex technical challenges, a passion for software craftsmanship and product quality, a product mindset that considers user experience and business impact, and a commitment to mentoring and learning from diverse teammates. You don't need prior experience with the specific tech stack—problem-solving approach and adaptability matter most.
