Salary: USD 163,944 - 215,176 / annual
Oscar Health is a technology-first health insurance company founded in 2012, seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack to join its Engineering team in New York City (Hudson Square office).
In this role, you will design and build reliable, maintainable applications, infrastructure, and user interfaces that simplify healthcare interactions for millions of members and providers. You will report to a Senior Manager or above and work on a wide range of impactful projects across the full technology stack.
Key responsibilities include:
- Become the domain expert on your team's business and technical areas
- Lead planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects
- Own small to medium features or infrastructure projects from technical design through completion with minimal guidance
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to solve challenging healthcare problems
- Execute technical migrations of existing services and applications
- Write stable, correct, and maintainable code with little oversight
- Make steady progress independently while applying best practices across the codebase
You bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of increasingly impactful accomplishments. You have hands-on experience with multiple technologies, understand practical CS concepts, and are excited about building fault-tolerant, scalable systems. You demonstrate strong technical judgment, propose and iterate on solutions, and consistently deliver high-quality code.
Bonus experience includes expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or Golang; building consumer-facing products at scale; or prior healthtech company experience.
