Salary: CAD 136,000 - 187,000 / annual
Okta is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack to join the Privileged Access Management (PAM) team in Toronto. PAM is an identity-centric platform built on Zero Trust architecture designed for modern cloud environments, helping customers solve critical security and operations challenges at scale.
In this role, you will be deeply involved in evolving the core architecture of the PAM product. You will work within product development teams to build scalable, composable platform components, taking ownership of designing and implementing scalable architecture patterns. You'll enhance customer experience by building world-class UX using a React-based design system, and design APIs that customers rely on for production infrastructure access. The technical stack includes backend components in Go and frontend components in React.
Key responsibilities include:
- Evolving core PAM architecture
- Building scalable, composable platform components
- Designing and implementing scalable architecture patterns
- Developing customer-facing UX with React
- Designing and building production APIs
- Working across full-stack (Go backend, React frontend)
You will work on a fully-distributed team with an emphasis on end-to-end ownership, collaborative problem-solving, and systems thinking.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3–5 years of software development experience with background in Golang or similar programming languages
- Proficiency in React or similar front-end UI stacks
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS)
- Ability to complete features end-to-end: database models, backend APIs, frontend UI components
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Comfort working on fully-distributed teams
- Strong systems thinking: understanding distributed systems, reliability, availability, and performance implications
- Passion for building reliable, maintainable, scalable, and secure systems
- Ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and customer focus
