Okta's Technology Data and Intelligence (TDI) team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Bengaluru office. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality, scalable web applications serving internal business objectives. This is a fullstack role balancing technical excellence with disciplined software development practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end development of web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies
- Contributing to architectural decisions, API design, database schema modeling, and system integrations
- Leading technical projects, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior and mid-level engineers
- Partnering with Product Management, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications
- Identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing application performance, and troubleshooting production issues
- Supporting automation of deployment pipelines and contributing to cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP)
You will work collaboratively across business stakeholders, business analysts, and engineers on different infrastructure layers, from proposal development through deployment and support. Your product owner will rely on you to provide comprehensive technical services including design, configuration, software development, and testing.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of hands-on development and design experience
- Proficiency with: Java, Node.js, TypeScript, React, Python, Shell, Kotlin
- Strong AWS experience (Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Secrets Manager/Parameter Store, EC2, AppFlows, StepFunctions, Kinesis)
- Database experience with DynamoDB and PostgreSQL
- Terraform and serverless architecture expertise
- Unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito)
- Ability to provide leadership and influence over design, implementation, and support of POCs
- Excellent verbal and written technical documentation skills
- Willingness to learn and master unfamiliar technologies
PLUS (not required):
- Experience with latest AI technologies
- Proven background in serverless ecosystems (AWS Lambda)
- Container orchestration (Kubernetes) or Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- Continuous integration/delivery platforms (GitHub Actions)
- Experience coaching and developing individuals in geographically dispersed teams
