Okta's Auth0 is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Management team, which owns the full lifecycle of tenant and team management, dashboards, and public APIs for enterprise customers. You'll design and build high-performance, customer-facing features end-to-end using React and Node.js/TypeScript, architecting backend APIs for throughput, latency, and reliability at enterprise scale.
Key responsibilities include: designing and optimizing backend APIs (public and internal) for enterprise-scale performance; implementing and managing caching strategies using Redis to minimize response times; profiling and resolving performance bottlenecks across the full stack from React rendering to database query optimization; modeling and optimizing data access patterns across PostgreSQL and MongoDB; driving technical improvements to ensure systems are highly reliable, maintainable, and scalable; collaborating with engineers across teams to design powerful new APIs and features; mentoring and coaching other engineers on sound engineering practices and performance discipline; and participating in on-call rotation.
The Enterprise Management team provides enterprise-ready, centralized governance of Auth0 resources, ensuring secure, autonomous, and frictionless access through tenant-level transparency and access controls. The team works with Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and React to build highly available services, with recent launches shipping with zero production bugs.
Required qualifications: 5+ years working on large-scale systems; strong expertise in Node.js/TypeScript for backend services and API development; production experience building fullstack applications with React; deep experience with PostgreSQL schema design, query optimization, and indexing; production experience with MongoDB document modeling and aggregation pipelines; hands-on caching layer design (Redis); demonstrated ability to identify and resolve performance problems using profiling tools and APM instrumentation; experience with Docker and cloud environments (AWS/Azure preferred); strong communication and collaboration skills with demonstrated mentoring interest.
