Formulary Financial is building a platform for managing billions in assets across alternative funds. As a Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack, you'll own entire product verticals end-to-end—from data model through API, UI, and deployment—working alongside the CTO and principal engineer on a small, high-impact engineering team.
Key areas you'll shape include:
**Real-time Calculation Engine**: Build systems that compute allocations, NAV, and capital accounts on the fly with penny-perfect accuracy. Every number must tie out exactly.
**Lineage & Traceability**: Implement systems where every figure traces back to its source in client files, regardless of format. Derived numbers show their formulas, enabling users to walk the full calculation chain from screen result back to origin.
**Workflow Orchestration**: Design durable workflows that coordinate LLM agents, deterministic validators, and human sign-offs, with each component owning the steps it's best suited for.
**Money Movement**: Integrate production bank connections, payment rails, and reconciliation workflows. Capital calls settle against real bank activity and reconcile automatically.
**Automated Audit & Data Quality**: Build continuous data-quality layers that detect misattributed ledger entries, broken tie-outs, and drifted balances.
**Authorization & Permissions**: Implement permissions as live graph queries over fund hierarchies, so access control naturally reflects how funds, GPs, and LPs actually relate.
**Client Surfaces**: Develop web, mobile, and agentic Excel experiences for fund administrators, GPs, and LPs.
You'll need 6+ years of hands-on full-stack engineering with strong TypeScript (React frontend, GraphQL/gRPC backend). Experience in correctness-critical systems—payments, billing, ledgers—is highly valued. You're comfortable with complex data structures (hierarchies, versioned history, reconciliation) and understand distributed systems fundamentals (idempotency, retries). You actively use AI tools and are excited to build LLM-powered features. AWS deployment and Kubernetes experience, plus solid testing and CI/CD practices, round out the profile.
