Watershed is an enterprise sustainability platform helping companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for regulatory reporting (including CSRD), and drive real decarbonization.
You'll join the team building Watershed's data layer into an intelligence platform, focusing on delivering outcomes for Financial Institution customers. The work spans BI-grade querying, AI-powered discovery and analysis, and schema architecture—enabling customers to get answers directly in Watershed rather than exporting to Excel.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building interactive data visualizations to help climate leads understand their company's emissions
- Developing APIs to unify carbon data access for customers and engineers
- Creating tools for financial institutions to measure and report emissions across portfolio companies
- Building tools to help customers ingest and interpret business data effectively
You'll ship code to production on day one and collaborate closely with product, design, climate science, and data science teams to iterate on software that helps customers understand climate data.
Ideal candidates have 6+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in Node.js web development or data pipelines. You should have a track record of building scalable software starting from user needs and be excited to join a startup and help evolve a growing engineering team.
The role is based in the New York City office with an expectation of 4 days per week in-office presence. Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City, plus satellite offices in Denver, Sydney, Paris, and Berlin.
