True Anomaly builds autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space environment and counter threats. Software is central to their engineering thesis, bridging military objectives, astrodynamics, and human/autonomous control of spacecraft and ground systems.
You'll join as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer driving feature development and architectural decisions across a React/TypeScript frontend and Elixir backend. This is a high-autonomy role where you own entire feature domains from conception to production, make architectural decisions affecting both frontend and backend, and set the code quality standard for junior and mid-level engineers.
Key responsibilities include: owning complex end-to-end features across the full stack (2D/3D web interfaces through distributed Elixir services); driving architectural direction and establishing patterns that scale; proactively identifying and addressing technical debt and performance bottlenecks; setting quality standards through rigorous code review and testing practices; mentoring junior and mid-level engineers through pairing and design discussions; collaborating with product, design, QA, space operators, and algorithm engineers on system-wide decisions; shipping iteratively with a bias toward completion; and documenting decisions to grow collective knowledge.
You won't wait to be assigned work—you identify what needs doing, propose solutions, and drive them to completion. No prior aerospace or space ground systems experience required. The company offers flexible work hours/location, platinum healthcare, highly competitive compensation, and generous stock options.
