K Health is building AI-powered virtual clinics for the nation's largest health systems. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will architect and lead the development of a modern, reliable product ecosystem serving both patients and physicians at scale. Your mission is to champion technical excellence across a portfolio of clinical AI products. You'll design unified product engineering strategies that prioritize modularity, reusability, and extreme resiliency. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of products—from multi-platform clients (web and mobile) to Kotlin/JVM-based backend services—ensuring that performance, accessibility, and data privacy are foundational, not afterthoughts. Key responsibilities include: architecting for trust by designing resilient, modular systems; defining and enforcing high-stakes engineering standards; modernizing systems to leverage agentic AI tools; building shared libraries and domain-specific languages that enable rapid deployments; acting as a stabilizing technical force in complex situations; and mentoring the engineering organization to foster an ownership mindset. You bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep expertise in building robust, customer-facing products. You're fluent in full-stack development using Node/TypeScript on the frontend and JVM languages (Kotlin or Java) on the backend. You understand how to build resilient APIs using GraphQL and TypeScript in middle layers. You develop with the customer in mind, prioritizing experience across web and mobile platforms. You're proficient with modern agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code) and have experience building reusable frameworks, white-label solutions, or multi-tenant architectures. You have a background in high-stakes industries like HealthTech or conversational AI where performance and privacy are paramount. You work autonomously, using your expertise to make sound decisions. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is required. Bonus qualifications include Kotlin Multiplatform experience, deep security and encryption knowledge, and familiarity with healthcare standards (FHIR, HL7) or EHR system integration.
