Affirm is a fintech company that enables customers to pay over time with transparency and predictability. The Trust & Safety Experience team owns customer journeys during authentication, verification, and fraud prevention. In this Senior Software Engineer role, you will work as a full-stack engineer contributing to backend, web, and mobile interfaces for high-availability, low-latency systems used by millions of Affirm customers daily.
You will own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity to solve complex, open-ended problems while ensuring team support throughout delivery. You will collaborate closely with product management, design, and analytics teams during ideation, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs. You will proactively identify and advocate for project, process, technology, and business issues, then lead in solving them.
You will support operations and availability of your team's systems by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and participating in on-call efforts. You will foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting or improving code review and design standards, advocating for them across the organization through writing and tech talks. You will develop talent on your team by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
This is a remote-first role with flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada. Affirm offers comprehensive benefits including 100% subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and dependents, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and tech spending, flexible time off, and an employee stock purchase plan.
