Salary: CAD 153,000 - 213,000 / annual
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering consumers flexible buy-now-pay-later options without hidden fees or compounding interest. The Marketplace and App Experience domain drives the core consumer strategy across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.
In this Senior Frontend Engineer role, you will be at the forefront of Affirm's frontend technical strategy, working with React and TypeScript across multiple product surfaces. You'll coordinate and implement major product features from design specs and requirements, modernize web code implementation and design systems, and build tools and codemods to enable efficient development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and delivering quarterly goals for your team, leading engineers through ambiguity on open-ended problems
- Supporting peers and stakeholders in product development by collaborating with product management, design, and analytics
- Proactively identifying and solving project, process, technology, and business issues
- Supporting team operations, availability, and on-call efforts through metrics and monitoring
- Fostering a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards
- Developing talent on your team through feedback, guidance, and mentorship
You bring 4+ years of experience developing and architecting web applications with declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue. You're proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript, have experience driving horizontal initiatives across teams, and can deliver major features and system components through clear technical planning. You excel at making significant changes in large codebases safely, take ownership of your growth, and communicate effectively with global engineering teams.
