Flock is an AI-first insurance technology company transforming fleet and connected vehicle insurance. With over £50M raised and partnerships with Amazon, DPD, Uber, and Bolt, Flock uses real-time data and AI to price risk better and help customers prevent claims rather than just pay them.
As a Senior Fullstack Engineer on the Expansion Team, you'll own end-to-end delivery of features that bring new fleets, brokers, and sectors onto the Flock platform. You'll work at the intersection of complex backend architectures and intuitive user experiences, partnering with underwriters, pricing engineers, and product managers.
Key responsibilities include:
**Backend Engineering**: Design and evolve TypeScript microservices in a monorepo organized around CQRS and Hexagonal architecture. Build event-driven systems using AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and API Gateway. Think through eventual consistency, retries, and idempotency in distributed systems. Work across domains including pricing, underwriting, brokers, customers, vehicles, invoices, and finance.
**Frontend Development**: Develop and extend the internal Product Config UI in React (TypeScript), transforming complex schema-driven configuration into interfaces that underwriters and product managers can use confidently. Turn intricate business logic into intuitive, performant interfaces.
**Cloud Infrastructure & Observability**: Leverage AWS services to build scalable, event-driven systems. Care deeply about observability, monitoring (DataDog), and graceful failure patterns. Use AI coding tools and agents throughout the development lifecycle while owning quality.
**Ownership & Impact**: Own problems from ideation through deployment and impact measurement. Drive architectural consistency as Flock expands into new sectors. Your work directly influences how Flock wins new business and opens new lines of cover.
You'll work with a team that treats AI as standard tooling—coding assistants and agents are part of the daily workflow. Success is measured by lasting impact on customers and the team, not output alone.
