Robinhood is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Enterprise Build team, a small, high-leverage group responsible for transforming AI-built prototypes into production-grade enterprise services. The team operates at the intersection of innovation and regulatory compliance, turning ideas from across Finance, HR, Legal, and Compliance into hardened, secure software.
In this role, you will assess prototypes and make technical decisions about which ideas to harden, rebuild, or redirect. You'll design and ship services on Robinhood's enterprise platforms, meeting full standards for secure, reliable enterprise software including SSO, audit logging, secrets management, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and security review. You'll work AI-natively, using agents for first-pass assessment and porting, then shipping MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills as production artifacts where appropriate.
You'll collaborate directly with business partners in Finance, HR, Legal, and Compliance, translating real workflows into software people actually adopt. Responsibilities include delivering clean operational handoffs (runbooks, evals, dashboards), establishing paved patterns with the Enterprise Platforms team, and raising the bar on AI-era engineering quality through rigorous code review.
Required qualifications: 5+ years building and running production backend or full-stack systems with a track record of independently delivering high-ambiguity projects end-to-end. You need hands-on cloud depth (GCP preferred), including containerized services, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and serverless stack experience. Demonstrated AI-native development is essential: daily fluency with agentic coding tools, experience building LLM-powered applications or agentic workflows, and judgment to review and productionize AI-generated code. You must have product sense and scoping discipline to identify the 20% of a prototype worth keeping. Exceptional communication with non-engineers is critical, as you'll be embedded with business partners. Experience in highly regulated industries, particularly finance or fintech, is strongly preferred.
The role is based in Menlo Park with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Robinhood emphasizes in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community.
