True Anomaly is building autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors to secure the space environment and counter threats. Software is central to their engineering thesis, bridging military objectives, astrodynamics, and human/autonomous control of spacecraft and ground systems.
You will own entire service domains for their distributed spacecraft ground control system, from conception to production. This is a high-autonomy, high-accountability role where you'll drive architectural decisions affecting distributed systems powering ground control infrastructure and set code quality standards for junior and mid-level engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and deliver complex distributed system features end-to-end across satellite command and control, mission planning, mission data processing, and data analysis systems
- Drive architectural decisions and technical design for service domains
- Identify reliability issues, diagnose root causes, and champion fixes
- Propose and lead adoption of better patterns and practices
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code quality and example
- Take high ownership of greenfield problems with direct impact on company outcomes
