Snowflake is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Dynamic Tables team in Berlin. Dynamic Tables is a next-generation data platform feature that enables customers to transform data using declarative SQL while maintaining control over cost, latency, and throughput.
In this role, you will work with a globally distributed team of engineers and product managers to define capabilities and technical designs for Dynamic Tables. You'll interact directly with enterprise customers to understand their needs and translate those into product and technical roadmaps. You'll have end-to-end ownership of new capabilities and performance improvements, from conception through delivery to production.
Key responsibilities include building highly reliable and performant software that meets the scale and reliability demands of the largest enterprise customers, analyzing and solving performance, correctness, and fault-tolerance challenges at scale, and ensuring operational readiness of services while meeting customer commitments for reliability, availability, and performance.
You should have 5+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed data systems, with 3+ years of experience working with query compiler internals. A degree in Computer Science or related field is required. You'll need excellent problem-solving skills and strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, relational algebra, and SQL. The ideal candidate is adaptive and collaborative, comfortable both mentoring and learning from teammates, with strong English communication skills.
Bonus experience includes direct interactions with enterprise customers and knowledge of incremental view maintenance or materialized views.
