GetYourGuide is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend-focused) to join the Developer Platform Team in Berlin. This role focuses on building and maintaining tools and infrastructure that empower GetYourGuide's diverse engineering teams across Java, JavaScript, Python, and other languages.
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintaining and enhancing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD to ensure reliable service delivery
- Administering GitHub repositories, permissions, and workflows to enable secure collaboration
- Developing and maintaining testing tools for automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end) across multiple languages
- Building tools to simplify local development environments and reduce setup friction
- Supporting adoption and evolution of in-house AI agents and AI-assisted engineering workflows
- Collaborating with diverse engineering teams to understand needs and deliver cross-language tooling
- Writing clean, maintainable backend code focused on practical solutions balancing immediate needs with scalability
- Participating in code reviews, pair programming, and team discussions to learn from senior engineers
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of backend development experience with Java, JavaScript/Node.js, Python, or Go
- Familiarity with Git, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and CI/CD concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and pragmatic approach to solutions
- Proactive communicator fluent in English
- Collaborative team player in diverse environments
Preferred experience:
- GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar CI/CD tools
- Kubernetes and Docker
- Testing frameworks
- Creating tools/automations that improved developer productivity
