Salary: USD 125,000 - 150,000 / annual
ZenBusiness is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the developer platform team. The role focuses on building and scaling AI-powered developer tooling and improving the internal developer experience across the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement agentic coding and review workflows that leverage LLMs to analyze code, generate changes, and enable collaborative chat-based interactions.
- Build policy- and guardrail-aware AI assistants capable of commenting, proposing code changes, and safely automating repetitive developer tasks.
- Create and maintain prompt libraries, instructions, and service manuals to ensure safe and effective AI adoption across engineering teams.
- Enhance the CI/CD platform for speed, observability, and ease of adoption; surface insights that drive team-level improvements.
- Strengthen platform reliability and security in Kubernetes environments through improved cluster/app resiliency, rollout strategies, and priority classes for critical services.
- Apply Helm chart patterns, deployment practices, and infrastructure-as-code workflows to improve operational excellence.
- Contribute to incident response playbooks, maintenance modes, and recovery patterns.
- Create paved paths and golden templates for developers, including self-service software templates, CLI enhancements, and bootstrap flows.
- Develop clear documentation, runbooks, and technical blogs that drive adoption and reduce support burden.
- Collaborate with teammates on complex changes, champion code review quality, and share best practices within the team.
- Communicate proactively about blockers, delays, and scope changes to keep expectations clear.
Required qualifications:
- Proven track record building platform capabilities with measurable outcomes in developer velocity, reliability, and/or quality.
- Solid experience in CI/CD systems and reusable pipeline components (e.g., GitHub Actions), Kubernetes/Helm/GitOps/IaC, and/or AI for engineering (prompt design, multi-agent orchestration, safety/guardrails, LLM integration).
- Proficiency in at least two languages used for platform work (Python, TypeScript/Node.js, Bash); comfortable moving across stacks to ship end-to-end solutions.
- Strong security and reliability instincts including secrets management, least privilege, dependency hygiene, and runtime hardening.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Active listening and collaborative mindset.
Bonus qualifications include experience building agentic developer assistants, CDN/edge controls, platform observability improvements, gRPC service enablement, and exposure to commercial LLM providers like Anthropic.
